PBR - Buckle Up!

This story begins Wednesday night at D6
{my church's family ministry that I volunteer as a Beginnings Coach}.
I'm walking down the hall after The Gathering, and see a friend I haven't seen in awhile.
I stop.
We chat.
Somehow we get talking about the PBR.
Chuck asks if I'm going. I say no.  But I want to!
{I went last year, but no one to go with this year.
I thought about getting a ticket for myself, but didn't.}
He mentions they might have an extra ticket, but he'd need to check.
I don't think much of it.

  Friday evening rolls around.
I get a text from Chuck with the following:
Howdy!  Get your boots on for Sunday!  11:30 to use your early all access pass to rub elbows with all those cowboys!  :)  and 2 for start time.

I about freaked out.

Ok.

I did freak out.  :)

I got to enjoy the event with 3 of his kids and a friend, and the awesome Connie {who bought the tickets} and her sister Peggy!

We got to Wells Fargo Arena a little after 11:30,
immediately making our way to the arena floor.
{Did you know they rent the dirt for the event?}

We got to check out the bull pens...

 the chutes...

 and I got some signatures from about 8 of the cowboys.

{Nope...I didn't get a picture of them in person.  Too nervous!}

Eventually we made our way to our AH-MAZING! seats.

The first row all around the arena was empty,
but  we were in the 2nd row...which really makes it the 1st row in my mind.

You couldn't get any closer to the action, unless if you got the Sky Box seats above the chutes...
and dished out a lot more money for seats that most didn't even sit in.
{They stood to see over the railings and things.}

Personally, I think our view was the best.

The PBR always starts with a BANG! and fire and more fire.
I didn't realize how loud it was last year, as I was in the nosebleed seats.

Much louder when you are near the floor.  {I jumped when the first bang occurred.}

 The top ranking bull riders getting introduced...

with lots of fire!

 Getting ready for an 8 second ride!

 Ryan Dirteater.  He's a quality bull rider.

 The rider currently in first,
Valdiron de Oliveira

At some point during the afternoon, a PBR guy came to our section
and took Connie away for awhile.
We had no idea where she went.
Then we got caught up in the riding again.
But at some point, we saw Connie's face on the big screen,
and remembered she was gone!
The tv guy did a little interview with her.
She got a little 'kick back' for how she purchased the tickets.
A whole $25.  But, it's better than nothing!

  In the end, it was a fabulous time!

Now I'm even more excited for rodeo season to make its way here!

I'm hoping I'll be able to go to the PBR again next year, even if it's on my own in the nosebleed seats.

 Connie, THANK YOU SO MUCH for letting me snag one of the tickets.
It made my day, week, and month.
The PBR is currently tied for first for making my year,
along with the Lady Antebellum concert

:)

The winner for the night:

Robson Palermo

And if you look to the left side right above the Jack Daniel's sign, that is where our group was sitting in the first two rows.  :)

I wish I would have known you were there....so was I - in the skybox. Not exactly super close, but really convenient with little ones!!! You should have taken a pix with the cowboys. ~ AA

Don't you just love the last name Dirteater! ha! I thought they were joking the first time I heard it :) perfectly suiting for a bullrider though ;)

The PBR is a new thing to me. They don't come around much in Memphis. But my pastor and his family are big fans and go every year, so I'm very intrigued!!!! Looks like lots of fun.
