St. Louis - Day 1

This year for our program's summer trip, we headed to St. Louis. Today, we started our trip by picking up 46 students from the schools we serve.

Our first stop of the trip, and only stop for the day....Busch Stadium. We enjoyed seeing the Cardinals take on the LA Dodgers. It was a good game, with the Cardinals winning 6-1.

It was a great night for the game, with a crowd of over 43,000 attendees. Temps were in the low 80s for the night, and there was a slight breeze that kept things cooler. Since the game got moved up an hour from the orginally scheduled time, we weren't able to stop and get supper ahead of time. So we all grabbed a bite to eat at the game. Well, at least a little bit of food, for what it costs. Souviner cup of pop, $5.75. Nachos w/cheese, $6.25. Meal cost for the night $12.00. Yup. Nachos for supper.

Here's some pics of the stadium.

I like this pic, with a shadow of some nearby buildings.

Casey Blake is originally from Iowa.
If you look closely, you can see the left side of the Arch mowed in to the outfield lawn.
I wanted to get a picture of the stadium with the real Arch in the background. But being on the 3rd level, in the middle of a bunch of people, I thought I could do without.

On schedule for day 2, St. Louis University, Grant's Farm, City Museum, the Arch, a riverboat tour, and supper at the Old Spaghetti Factory.
