After making breakfast for supper....I decided to attempt the red velvet funnel cakes again!
I made a quick call to the farm. I needed to get a true funnel cake recipe from mom! :)
The end result.......not too shabby!
Right Amy?
Howdy Kitchen: Red Velvet Funnel Cakes
2 beaten eggs
1 1/2 cup milk
{mix eggs & milk together}
1 1/2 cup milk
{mix eggs & milk together}
add 2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp cocoa powder {I think....I just kind of dumped it in} :)
{mix well}
add red food coloring until you like the color
Heat oil to 350 degrees in an electric skillet or some other contraption
Use a disposable pie tin {with the bottom cut out} for the funnel cake form
Pour in batter
Let sit for a couple minutes or until the batter seems set up
Flip and finish cooking on the other side
Once done, put funnel cake on paper towel covered plate to drain grease
Sprinkle with powered sugar
Drizzle with cream cheese frosting/glaze
EAT!
Thanks to the Iowa State Fair for inspiring me to make my own.
I think I liked this version a little bit better.
